Finally time to upgrade the old humidifier in our master bedroom (old heater type that creates a lot of mineral deposits and hard to clean up) to the new ionizer type (much faster moisture and easy to clean). Since we have a pretty big master bedroom we want a unit with larger tank. We also want to try correct the issue of "over moisturing" where sometimes we find our room a little too wet after having the humidifier on the whole night.
We did quite some research and finally decided on this unit after reading the details and review. The unit does have a relatively high price tag, but there are 3 features that really caught our attention
1) large tank size which means less refilling, and the tank is transparent so it is easy to read the water level
2) humidity sensing. it allows you to set a threshold and if humidity of the surrounding area is over the threshold the humidifier will temporarily shut off
3) timer. it allows the humidifier to shut off after set period of time
With the above 3 features this unit already impresses us a lot. We have been testing this unit for about a week and with the humidity sensing, we no longer have the over moisture situation in the morning. The timer also helps as the unit turns itself off before morning time (when humidity starts to go up). And these also help save water so our water tank lasts so much longer than our old unit!
This humidifier allows you to adjust the amount of moisture generated which is pretty standard. It also has a heater function to generate warm moisture. It's done by using ionizer to generate cool moisture and then a heater unit heats up the moisture. It does take a minute or two to heat up but it works pretty well (though we don't really use this feature). The unit also comes with a remote control, can't say we really care for it but I guess for really big rooms it is a plus.
Cleaning is also very straight forward, the tank has big opening so it is easy to clean the inside. The moisture tube is removable so it gives easy access to the ionizer and heater unit which is where deposits are, if any.
So yes, the unit is expensive but we really like the special features that this unit give us and it works really well with our big room!
